QWO Cellulite Treatment
A Breakthrough Cellulite Treatment
Hormone Therapy of Orlando is excited to offer a new and effective treatment for cellulite. While cellulite does not harm the body, it can harm self-esteem and confidence. For decades, many ads claimed to smooth out cellulite dimpling, mostly by targeting fat cells. Few have produced long-lasting results—until now. QWO® is a breakthrough cellulite treatment that targets the problem at its source to produce long-lasting results.
QWO is the first FDA-approved injectable treatment for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of women. Rather than targeting the fat cells, QWO releases the dimples by dissolving the fibrous bands that cause them. The secret behind the efficacy of QWO is a simple and safe form of the drug collagenase that has been used for years in other medical applications.
What Causes Cellulite?
One theory of what causes cellulite is the rise and fall of a woman’s estrogen levels throughout her lifetime. Lower estrogen might account for cellulite in older women, but too much estrogen might also be to blame for cellulite formation among teenage girls and pregnant women. It is these estrogen fluctuations that may cause these aesthetically annoying fibrous bands to occur.
While this theory may contribute to cellulite formation, QWO was developed as a result of studies revealing the interaction between connective tissue and the fat below protruding through, resulting in cellulite appearing.
How QWO Works to Dissolve Cellulite
FDA-approved in 2020, QWO’s approach is revolutionizing the war against cellulite.
QWO is an injectable formula that consists of two enzymes that degrade the collagen-rich tissue fibers that anchor our skin to deeper layers. When QWO is injected into the cellulite dimple, enzymatic degradation of these fibers occurs. By causing the breakdown of these fibers at the injection site, QWO effectively targets the underlying cause of skin dimpling, smoothing out the appearance of cellulite. In addition, QWO stimulates the production of new collagen, which further improves the appearance of the skin in the treated area. The active ingredient in QWO is CCH (collagenase clostridium histolyticum). CCH is a synergistic blend of these two enzymes.
What is Involved in a QWO Treatment?
A QWO treatment takes about 10 minutes in-office while you lie comfortably on your stomach. No anesthesia is needed, but we do offer Pro-Nox™ if needles cause any anxiety. Most patients can resume normal activities the day after treatment. Typically, there is bruising at the injection sites that can last several weeks after treatment. Some patients report mild to moderate soreness alleviated with over-the-counter pain relievers.
How Fast Does QWO Work?
QWO patients may see noticeable improvements as early as three weeks after treatments, with continued improvements over time. Most patients require 3 treatments spaced 3 weeks apart.
Patients can experience enhanced results when they use our prescription strength cellulite cream during and after their series of QWO cellulite treatments.
How Long Do Results Last?
Although QWO is new to the market, the data so far supports that results will last a year or more. Treatment results continue to be monitored over time to determine how many years patients can expect substantial improvements.
